1. Sponsor
The MarkBook® 2026 Giveaway (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Asylum Software Inc. o/a The Acadiem Group, operator of MarkBook® (the “Sponsor”), located at 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, Toronto, Ontario, M5C 1C4.
Contest questions may be directed to hello@markbook.com.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins on August 16, 2026, when the Contest entry form is first made publicly available at MarkBook.com/giveaway, and ends on September 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) (the “Contest Period”).
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry.
The Contest is not open to the Sponsor’s owners, directors, officers or employees; individuals directly involved in administering the Contest; or members of their immediate families or households.
For the purposes of these Rules, “immediate family” includes a spouse, parent, child or sibling.
The Contest is promoted primarily to teachers and educators; however, teacher or educator status is not a condition of eligibility and entrants are not required to provide employment information or use any particular type of email address.
4. No Purchase Necessary
No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase an entrant’s chances of winning.
5. How to Enter
During the Contest Period, visit MarkBook.com/giveaway, complete all required fields in the Contest entry form, confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements, accept these Official Contest Rules, and submit the form.
Limit: one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period.
Following MarkBook®, liking or commenting on a social-media post, sharing content, or tagging another person is not required to enter and will not provide additional entries or improve an entrant’s chances of winning.
6. Prizes
Ten (10) prizes are available.
Each prize consists of the first twelve (12) months of an individual MarkBook® subscription at no charge, with an approximate regular retail value of $40 CAD.
The approximate total retail value of all prizes is $400 CAD.
A valid payment method is required to activate a winning subscription through MarkBook’s payment provider. No purchase or payment is required to activate the prize, and no annual subscription fee will be charged during the initial 12-month prize period.
Following the initial 12-month prize period, the subscription will automatically renew annually at the then-current posted annual subscription price, plus applicable taxes, unless cancelled.
A winner may cancel automatic renewal at any time. Cancelling automatic renewal during the initial 12-month prize period will not affect the winner’s access to MarkBook® for the remainder of that prize period.
Any additional renewal notices, cancellation rights, refunds or other consumer rights required by applicable law will apply.
Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary, subject to applicable law.
7. Existing MarkBook® Subscribers
If a verified winner already has an active eligible individual MarkBook® annual subscription, including a subscription purchased during the 2026 back-to-school promotional period, the prize will be applied as an additional twelve (12) months of eligible MarkBook® subscription access following the end of the winner’s current subscription period.
This allows entrants to purchase MarkBook® during the Contest Period without needing to wait for the Contest results.
8. Odds of Winning
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
9. Winner Selection
On or about September 8, 2026, the Sponsor will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period to select ten (10) provisional winners.
The Sponsor may also randomly select alternate entrants, in the order drawn, to be contacted if a provisional winner cannot be declared a winner in accordance with these Official Contest Rules.
The Sponsor will retain an appropriate record of the draw.
10. Winner Verification and Skill-Testing Question
Before being declared a winner, each provisional winner must:
- respond to the Sponsor within three (3) business days of notification;
- confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements of these Official Contest Rules;
- correctly answer, without mechanical or other assistance, a mathematical skill-testing question; and
- otherwise comply with these Official Contest Rules.
If a provisional winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond within the required period, is found to be ineligible, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Contest Rules, the Sponsor may contact the next alternate entrant.
11. Winner Notification
Provisional winners will be contacted using the email address provided with their Contest entry.
Entrants are responsible for providing an accurate email address and for checking their email, including spam or junk folders.
12. Prize Activation and Subscription Renewal
Verified winners will receive instructions for activating their MarkBook® subscription.
Activation requires a valid payment method through MarkBook’s payment provider. The initial twelve (12) months of the subscription will be provided at $0.
No subscription fee will be charged during the 12-month prize period.
Following the initial 12-month prize period, the subscription will automatically renew annually at the then-current posted annual subscription price, plus applicable taxes, unless cancelled.
The applicable renewal price and renewal date will be disclosed to the winner in connection with the subscription, and renewal and cancellation will be subject to the applicable MarkBook® subscription terms and applicable consumer-protection laws.
A winner may cancel automatic renewal during the prize period without losing access for the remainder of the 12-month prize period.
