STUDENT PROGRESS
See the pattern. Change the path.
A final grade shows where a student stands. MarkBook® shows how they got there and where learning is heading, so you can spot what deserves a closer look while there’s still time to make a difference.

By report-card day, a pattern is already history.
A student’s results start slipping in week three. Another hasn’t handed in work for a month. A third is quietly improving, and no one has noticed. The evidence was there all along, scattered across marks, attendance records and notes, with too little time to piece it together.
MarkBook keeps it all in one place, right beside the grading you already do. Patterns come into view as they happen, not after the term is over.
From the whole class to a single student.

Across your class
See how the class is doing at a glance: averages, medians and the spread of results. Notice when an assessment didn’t land, or when a group is pulling ahead or falling behind.

Across an assessment
Look at one test, project or task: who completed it, who’s missing it, and how it fits the bigger picture.

Across a student’s learning
Follow one student’s achievement over time and across every part of the course. See where they’re consistent, where they’re growing, and where something has changed.
Rising, steady or slipping? You’ll know.
Trend graphs show how each student’s achievement is moving across the term, not just where it sits today. Compare results by category to find a hidden strength or a quiet gap, and see the level a student reaches most consistently. When recent work tells a different story from early work, you decide how much it should count.

Achievement doesn’t happen in isolation.
A drop in results might line up with missed classes, missing assignments or something you noted in October. MarkBook keeps attendance, missing work, remarks, notes and learning behaviours close to the marks, so you can see what may be behind a result before you decide what it means.
Context informs your judgement. It never changes a mark on its own.

Watch skills grow, attempt by attempt.
In MarkBook Mastery, progress is the record itself. Every attempt is kept in order, so you can see exactly when a student moved from struggling to secure on each outcome. The Records Overview shows where each student stands across every table and outcome, with a clear chart you can save and share as a PDF.

MarkBook shows the evidence. You know your students.
MarkBook doesn’t label students or predict outcomes. It brings patterns into view and leaves the interpretation to the person who knows the student best.
A pattern may deserve attention, but it doesn’t explain itself. That’s your job, and MarkBook gives you what you need to do it well.
Share progress in a way everyone understands.
When it’s time to talk with a student, a family or a colleague, bring the evidence with you. Student, Class and Combined Reports turn progress into clear graphs and summaries, ready to print, save or share online through MarkBook CONNECT.

A shared view of progress, classroom by classroom.
When teachers bring clear evidence to department meetings and student-support conversations, decisions get faster and more consistent. MarkBook gives every educator the same depth of insight, so conversations about progress start from the evidence, not from memory.

Frequently asked questions
Does MarkBook give more weight to recent work automatically?
No. You decide. Trends show how achievement has changed, and you can weight later assessments more heavily if that fits your practice.
Can students and families see progress?
Yes. Share reports with graphs as printouts or PDFs, or publish grades and reports online through MarkBook CONNECT. For MarkBook Mastery classes, MarkBook CONNECT shows each table’s overall grade; share the Records Overview as a PDF for outcome-by-outcome detail.
